Giant Media Aneurysm

Image
Non enhanced CT shows Giant Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) Aneurysm with calcified wall and filled with thrombus. CTA is showing only partial flow inside the aneurysm. Note hypodensity in the temporal lobe due to gliosis.

Dense Vessel Sign

Image
Non contrast CT shows hyperdense and thickened right middle cerebral artery (MCA) (arrow) and corresponding normal MCA on the left (arrow head). CT Perfusion shows decreased Blood Flow in the right MCA territory consistent with acute infarct. CT Angiography confirms cutoff of the contrast flow in the proximal M2 segment. Last image shows clear infarct and normalization of the MCA size and density 8 days later.

Anterior Cerebral Artery Trifurcation

Image
Two opposite way rotated 3D reconstructions, coronal and sagittal MIP images show Anterior Cerebral Artery Trifurcation . Defined as the occurrence of three A2 segments. This is a normal anatomic variant. Prevalence ranges from 2% to 13%. Most likely represents persistence of the median callosal artery.

Incisive Canal

Image
CT nicely shows normal Incisive Canal in this 16 years old patient. It leads from the floor of the nasal cavity into the incisive fossa on the palatal surface of the maxilla. It contains nasopalatine nerves from the floor of the nasal cavity along with the sphenopalatine arteries supplying the oral mucosa covering the hard palate of the mouth. Also called Incisor Canal .

Carotis Dissection Healing

Image
Upper axial image on the left and the left coronal CTA (labeled "Now") show present state of the Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) Dissection that happened 3 months ago. Old images show dissection (marked with arrow) that starts below skull base. Present images show disappearance of the intima flap, however dilatation of the affected ICA is still seen.

Subdural Hematoma

Image
This case of extensive post traumatic Subdural Hematoma in the 86 years old patient nicely depicts compartmental anatomy showing relation of the subdural space to the subarachnoid space that is following the sulci.
